I tried updating WordPress and Woocommerce on a staging site, because the plug-ins were all getting out of date and I need to do some further development.
We also renewed the Xmarket subscription, to make sure I had the latest version and to be able to access the excellent, proven support. 🙂
The Woocommerce status shows the usual incompatibility between a new minor version (3.3.3) and Xmarket (current? v 2.4). That’s expected for a while, and usually I’m able to wait or ignore.
There is a noticeable front-end problem, though, which prevents me from being able to publish the updates: On the shop category pages, the subcategories aren’t being shown at all now.
(I’m actually running a custom content-product_cat.php to flesh out the subcategories better, but even when I delete that file — and as I notice on your latest live demo, there are no subcategories displayed now. I, too, wish these WP updates didn’t break sites worldwide, but I was wondering if you could help with a solution.
This is a bit above my level, especially since that particular file isn’t even one with a deprecated status…)

Hello,
At first sight, the problem with categories on shop page related to WC and theme versions incompatibility.
I can pass your problem to our developers, but you need to provide temporary wp-admin and FTP access and be patient, the solution takes a few days.
Hope you understand this matter.

Thanks, Rose.
I appreciate your reply, agree, and I’ll be thrilled if 8theme can move us forward at your convenience.
Your credentials are in the private box below. It might not help on the live site, since we’ve stayed at WooCommerce v. 3.2.6. Before applying updates, I test them at a WP Stagecoach staging server, which is where I noticed the problem. You’re welcome to use that as a sandbox or generate a new one. You might not need it; as mentioned, I see the same problem on your demo site, if memory serves, and assuming that it’s running a more recent version of WC.
All the best,
Steve (for Tara)
Hello,
We’ve sent an archive of new theme version (2.5) to your registration email. Please try to update the theme on your staging site first, also you can update WC to 3.3.4 version.
Regards
Thank you so much, Rose, for handling, and to your developers for the update.
Everything worked swimmingly with the new theme version. It’s all compatible with WC, and the site is running exactly as expected.
Great. Thanks for the reply.
Please note that before update any plugin you need to be sure that theme and other plugins that you use are compatible with the new version.
Have a nice day.
Regards
